Once upon a little town, an Earth Mage was hard at work digging an underground cavern. All day long the Earth Mage would dig, dig, dig. The town’s Magi and Knights would laugh at him, for they would return home with Gold and Rare Items looted during their quests, while the Earth Mage returned with nothing other than dirty robes and soiled hair.
“Why do you do that?” asked a Fire Mage, shaking his inventory bag. “I just looted 5,000 Gold Coins and 20 Gems—all in one day! So why are you wasting your time digging when no riches are to be found?”
The Earth Mage smiled. “I hope it never comes to this, but I’m making a safe place to hide just in case a Dragon attacks.”
“HA HAA!” laughed the Fire Mage, waving the other Magi and Knights over. “Hey everyone, this guy thinks a Dragon is going to attack our little town!”
The Knights and Magi doubled over in laughter. All in the history of history, no Dragon had EVER attacked the little town, and the townsfolk could not believe that the Earth Mage was spending all of his life digging a place to hide… from something that has NEVER happened before!
But did this soil the Earth Mage’s hopes of creating his cavern? Not at all! The next day, and the next month, and the next year, the Earth Mage kept digging deeper and deeper, making his cavern bigger and bigger.
And one day, the somber shadow of a flying monster spread across the little town. Despite all their questing and adventures, the town’s Magi and Knights were still too low of a level to fight a Dragon. They watched in disbelief as the Dragon swooped down and roared—a blast of fire engulfed the Armory in flames! Then the might of the Dragon’s tail shattered the stables! And its claws crumbled everything in their wake!
“We’re all DOOMED!” the townsfolk cried, watching the Dragon wreak havoc on their little town.
But just then, the Earth Mage popped his head out of the dirt beneath them, and with his Earth Magic, created a hole just big enough for the Magi and Knights to fit inside. “Get down here!” the Earth Mage yelled. In no time at all, everyone climbed deep down into the deep cavern far far away from the Dragon.
“You saved us all” the Magi and Knights all cheered. “Not only do you possess Earth Magic, you are also able to predict the future!”
“Nay,” the Earth Mage replied, shaking his head, “I am not able to tell the future. I just follow what my wise Grandpa always told me:
